International Women’s Day in Phuket

On March 4th, 2010, Anchalee Vanich Tephabutr, the Deputy Secretary General of the Prime Minister, presided over Phuket International Women’s Day at Termfan conference room in Muang Thalang School. There were 80 women, both Buddhist and Muslim, attending the event.
Every year, Thepkrasatri Administrative Organization holds the International Women’s Day to promote women’s role in social development, educating women about laws related to them, and supporting them to participate in local politics. In the event, all women can show their opinions and share their experiences about politics. Anchalee said that even though the political situation in Thailand is not stable now, the power of women will one of the main keys that can bring peacefulness back to Thailand.
