November 10, 2011

Pattaya is to play host to the Pattaya International Beach Football Cup 2011 this December, which aims to be bigger and better than ever for this latest edition.

Taking place for the seventh time, the tournament is to kick off at the Jomtien Beach Football Stadium on December 16th, with the final to be held on December 23rd.

Following the success of previous competitions, the number of competing teams has been increased in 2011 from nine to 12, with squads representing England, Thailand, Germany, France, Ireland and Holland all confirmed to take part.

New sponsorship this year means the capacity of the stadium has been increased, with professional DJs set to provide musical entertainment between games.

Meanwhile, the televised final will be prefaced by an all-star VIP match, which will involve competitors from the local Thai government, former professional footballers and movie stars.

After the winner of the tournament is announced and the trophy presented, fans can enjoy a final spectacular fireworks display.

Those wishing to attend will find it easy to locate the venue, as the popular Jomtien Beach is located only around two km south of Pattaya.
