The event, set up by Phuket Governor Tri in 2011 and has been pushing ahead with a long term sustainability plan with the support of SEEK (MySeek.org) that will be a roadmap for the future. The support by the Absolute World Group forms part of their ongoing commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility, developing further relationships with the local community, and preserving the local environment for the benefit of their staff, owners and guests.

The local Governments Phuket Green Island campaign educates residents, hotels, small businesses and tourists about the Andaman Seas’ fragile eco-system and the impact that we have on its flora, fauna and marine reserves, spreading positive messages about Phuket to the world.

In 2013 the initiative are hopeful that island wide curb side recycling, sustainability education for local schools, local composting support and fishing fleet waste management education will be implemented supporting the Phuket Green Island campaign.
