Central Festival East now officially open in Phuket
Central Festival Phuket has now officially opened its new annex across the bypass road from the original mall, and called Central Festival Phuket East (CFPE).
The annex occupies the ground floor of what used to be the Homeworks building. Homeworks, Central’s home materials and décor arm, still occupies the upper floor.
But the lower floor failed for a long time to attract customers for the variety of businesses that rented space there. Hence the decision to extend Central Festival across the road.
The 16,000 sqm CFPE complex, a press release from Central notes, has 1,000 spaces for cars. The cornerstone business is Tops supermarket, echoing the existing Tops in the main mall across the road.
The two used to be linked by a pedestrian bridge across the bypass road, but that was dismantled to allow work on the new underpass that will go through the traffic lights.
Other businesses in CFPE include Power Buy (electric appliances, IT and digital technology) and IT City (computers); Photo Hut (cameras); Boots (pharmacy); and restaurants including Miyabi Grill, KFC, Jeffer Steak, Motto Shabu Shabu; fashion, jewellery and shoes stores; and a Top Charoen eyewear shop.
There is also an outlet of Khun Ploy Shop, which sells souvenirs and health products from the Thai Royal Projects.
